Anybody got a truck on stock suspension with big tires?
I want my truck to sit higher than stock height, but don't wanna put a lift on it, so I was thinking about just putting some bigger tires on it. So if anybody has a truck with big tires I'd love to see it.
Thanks Last edited by Miller92; 01-17-2011 at 01:28 PM. |

Without modification, I think 31x10.50-15 is the largest you can fit in the rear, not sure if you can fit it up front. Also, we have no clue if you have a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, 2wd or 4wd, and they do actually sit at different heights and thats a necessary peice of info to get the right answer.

My bad guys, for some reason I always forget that info. I've got a 1/2 ton LWB/fleetside 2wd.

Re: Anybody got a truck on stock suspension with big tires?
I can't find any pics right now, but before I painted mine up I had 32's on the back, and 31 10.5's on the front, cause it's what I had available at the time. Don't remember any issues with rubbing. BUT, you want to make sure you have all as it should be with suspension. Sat just like blackedoutharley's once I put fresh, stock height springs on it.

Now, all is well. It went from around 13-14, down to about 10. Now, back up to almost 17-18. |

Well I'm putting a late model motor and tranny in mine. It's just a 350 with a 700r4, which has overdrive, so I know that'll help, but I know the rearend makes a difference too.

Thanks guys... the pictures do it a lot of justice... it is rough after years of neglect.

The biggest benefit (to me at least) is that it is a true truck tire and able to carry a load. The height also helps fill the fenderwells without lowering (and helps with gear ratio) and because of the tall sidewall it rides very nice. Last edited by blackedoutharley; 01-18-2011 at 08:49 PM. |
