Here are a few pics. The Kick-Down Mounting Brackets are available at your local auto parts store. Sold under the Edelbrock brand #8036 Anodized, 8030 Chrome, 8031 & 8032 Black.

Re: turbo 400 kickdown
Its electric, I got one off a newer truck. I added the whole throttle assembly with switch mounted on it and cable throttle linkage.

Re: turbo 400 kickdown
Here are a couple pics from a stock 69 setup, don't know if that helps you much or not.

Re: turbo 400 kickdown
I thought the 400 Kickdown switch was on the carb from 70 and older trucks??? From 71 and newer they came off the gas pedal? Maybe i am dreaming????

Re: turbo 400 kickdown
When I ditched my old and worn stock q-jet on my '69 I replaced with a 600 cfm Edelbrock and they did not have a location for the stock kick down switch. I inquired about what I should do from Edelbrock and they said that they sell a WOT bracket and micro switch for their NOS setups and it would work fine. It was more than I wanted to spend for a anodized piece of aluminum and a $2 limit switch. Also I wanted the tranny to shift before WOT so I would not be wasting all kind of gas just trying to drop into gear. I went to the surplus store and bought what I needed for around $3 and made a kick down switch that fits in front of the throttle linkage and I can adjust it to open when ever I want to. I kind of rough wire it to see if it would work and it does just fine. Most of this is temporary because I am going to be installing a 700r4 here soon, so I did not want to get to technical over a short term fix. I did secure the wire a little better since the photo.
here is the original one that did not fit the new carb
