Big block valve covers

How tall does the valve covers have to be to clear roller rockers?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to make the big block swap in my 79 look stock and since I'm running roller rockers I want to be sure the valve covers I'm getting will clear the rockers.

Re: Big block valve covers

Valve covers come in short and tall usually. You would probably want tall covers for the full size roller rockers. Short would probably work with roller tip rockers. The tall covers were originally made for rocker arm girdles i think. You might be able to squeak by with short covers.
