I must be crazy!

I have not posted in quite a while, but after doing 2 trucks I am now doing my Jimmy. I just can't help myself, wanted to restore it, even though it is extremely solid, replaced one rocker and it needs a little work on the doors and behind the passenger door. Was working on it all day and the body is ready to come off! Both of the trucks that I did before are gone and this is the one I will keep forever! My first vehicle was a 1970 Blazer about 35 years ago! I am going back with the stock color and probably the stock Highlander green plaid/white seats. They are so funky I think I will keep it that way. Vintage air and new 4" lift in front and maybe a shackle flip in the back. Thanks

Re: I must be crazy!

That's the color my current project was. Lost the battle with my daughter to keep it that color. Apparently when we vote on things around here a tie goes to the daughter(s). Keep the pictures coming!

Re: I must be crazy!

I really like the color, we already painted the inner fenders this color and it looks great. It really looks different compared to the old paint.

Re: I must be crazy!

My son and I both like the original truck colors, the only thing we disagree on is whether or not to put the trim back on. He would rather leave it off, I like it on although it's a lot more money to buy all new trim!

Re: I must be crazy!

I vote for putting on new trim. To me it gives it that "classic" look. Although if it's between using the old trim or leaving it off I'd leave it off. Faded trim looks like pooh

Re: I must be crazy!

Do you guys still use the old stlye clips for the trim or can I just stick it on there. I hate those clips! I like the trim, I agree it would all have to be new!

Re: I must be crazy!

Well so much for my son doing the paint and body work, he moved out about 3 months ago! So I have been doing it, he has helped me a couple of times. Anyway this is where it's at today. Should be ready to put the motor and tranny in anytime then the body. I didn't rebuild the motor since it was already in good shape. Had the frame blasted and epoxy painted semi gloss black. Smoothed the firewall, staightened out everything and painted it. Also put bed liner spray inside everywhere, on the bottom portion of the body and also the complete underneath of the truck. Mixed in my paint color and it really comes out good. 4" shackle flip on the rear and lots more money to spend!

I'll bet it's called light yellow #525.

Looks the same as my truck.

My first Blazer was that color. It even had the funky 70's black pin stripping.

Re: I must be crazy!

That is the color, really kinda yellow with a green tint. I like it! Anyway a few more pictures to bring it up to date. Put new mounts in and put the body on last week. Lots of things to do now!
