Re: carb/ air cleaner set up
Is there a question there?
That is a 292 with water pump by-pass hose. That air cleaner is the same as the one on my '67 292. Bottom pivot, accelerator pedal with rod and manual choke cable looks like '67. Heat Stove on exhaust manifold is after '67, but I don't know what years.

Re: carb/ air cleaner set up
I still don't see a question!
The air cleaner is a oil bath type filter. The tube from the air cleaner spacer is the fresh air intake for the PCV system. The device in the middle of the tube is a spark arrester. Fresh air enters the valve cover at the front and travels through the engine to the PCV valve in the top, rear of the valve cover. The PCV valve should have a hose connecting it to the vacuum source on the intake manifold. Any of that answer some question you might be asking? The head gasket on the 250 is about level with the top of the water pump. The 292 is more than an inch taller than a 250, so the head is well above the water pump. The side covers on the passenger side of the engine are 4" tall on a 250. The 292 covers are 6" tall. The fuel pump on a 250 is between the oil filter and the side engine mount. The 292 has the side mount next to the oil filter and the fuel pump is behind the motor mount. Do you still have a 250???????
