Beware,

There is a Black SWB BB Cheyenne on Ebay that is being promoted in a mysterious way!

The most troubling part is there are two trucks shown. Most of the pictures are of a well detailed Black Super (not real Super) that does not have a cargo light and has the paint divider band around the back of the cab. Other pictures are of a Real SWB BB Cheyenne (with SPID pics) that has been lowered with power windows, no paint divider band, has the cargo light, etc. The Real SWB BB Cheyenne has been on Ebay before and never bid over the mid-teens. I suspect the truck is being "promoted" by the guy in Oklahoma but he is using good quality photos of a much better detailed truck.

There may be a good explanation, but I can't think of one right now. I emailed the "seller" in Oklahoma and asked which truck is for sale.

Whats funny is you can tell they photoshopped out the big chrome tailpipes on a few of the pics.

I wish it was closer I would go take a look at it. The first thing I noticed was the SPID is laminated. Obviously, it fell off at some point? I have heard of them coming unglued and raising up. You think this is the real deal or a built rig?
Also, educate me, since I never really cared for the 71-72 models (no offence honestly). What is the difference between a Cheyenne and Super? Just the woodgrain trim inside? Bucket option? Tilt option?

I noticed one of the trucks does not have windshield wipers. He also says tinted power windows in the description, but one of the trucks has crank handles visible thru the back window.

Very fishy....

Mcbassin, the early models were not laminated, but the later models were laminated so that part at least is correct. The cheesy photoshop makes it really seem like some hoodoo is going on. I personally like the disclaimer that sellers is not responsibility for the genuiness of the truck, orginality etc. that in its self is a nice touch.

Also look at the two pics of the inside of the bed, the one with the bed mat rolled up the bed and tailgate are scratched and dented and it has a sliding back glass. The other with the mat flat on the floor the tailgate is smooth and has nice paint and the back glass is solid!!!! Hmmmm

Here are a few pics of the Read SWB BB Cheyenne truck from a recent Ebay auction. The more I think about it the more upset I get. Hopefully no one hits the "Buy-it-Now" and gets the truck pictured below, thinking they are getting a nicely detailed real-deal truck. Notice the lowered stance, dark tint, no wiper arms, no tailgate band, etc.

Even funnier is that the photoshopped pics are right next to the unphotoshoped ones, where the pipes are right there in view.

Dang, good eyes guys. This seller should be kicked off ebay for being deceiving!

Plus the fake one has angled exhaust at the rear that isn't shown at all on the ebay ad, and has no super emblems at all. Plus the truck with the non sliding rear window has wood grain as well, real super. This guy should be kicked in the nuts and should have to include both trucks in this sale.

Something fishy... As mentioned, 2 different glove box doors, solid rear glass and slider, 2 different steering wheels, looks like 2 different exhaust systems despite the photoshop.
Listing has ended, but i would run away...

found two more guys, on one pic the shift indicator is chrome and one pic it is black, and there is a pic with the wood on the glove box and one without.

I just went and looked at his website and he does have two black 1972 Chevy trucks for sale.

It looks like it may have been an honest mistake or had an employee post the ebay ad and got the pictures mixed up.

Take a look at the descripton and see how much matches the pictures. I don't think I would buy anything from this guy online or in person after seeing these auctions.

The VIN is from a 72, not a 71.

I looked at "Completed Listings" and thankfully it is not shown as SOLD. I hope my note asking him which truck was for sale made him think twice about continuing with the deception.

Below is his FRIGHTENING "Warranty" policy. His words are even scarier after discovering his 2-truck listing.

"This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely.
