Stock height IFS

Is there anyone out there that would be interested in an Independent Front supsension that would keep there trucks at the stock height. Were tossing around the Idea of making a bolt in front suspension that keeps the vehicle at the factory height. If its stock height it looks original but has all the driving characteristics of a brand new truck or car. 12 inch disc brakes, Big GM calipers, Power steering.

Im looking for feed back from you guys. Please chime in and tell me what you think about a stock height IFS. Are you with it or against it? good idea or bad idea. Tell me how you feel.

Would love to have modern suspension on my truck, but do not want it too be as low as with most of the IFS installs I see done. Don't want my truck at stock height either just about a 2" drop. Maybe a stock height kit with optional dropped spindles.

This would be a great idea, also why does it seem like there is a deep bolt on c-notch for every truck except for the Task Force. mid 50's trucks? hint/hint

After having done a C10 bolt that was far from bolt in on a 58 I'd like to see the following for 47-54 or 55-59

S10 based- Because there are so many parts available after market or junk yard for S10 or G body that will interchange.
ZQ8 spindles - they have the cartrige type bearings
C5 brakes or similar 12.8 " disc
Rack power or manual, GM based if possible. So its not a Ford
Centers the wheel in the well.
Keep the side wall in the same place as stock. Not in like an MII or out like a C10 conversion.
Ability to have either springs or bags or Air shocks
Max drop 2", stock is a little to high unless your planning on chasing cows.

I have been thinking the same things today! As soon as you have a kit ready I want one.

I like my truck to sit 7" above ground level.......I would think the market would be limited
for a kit thats keeps the trk at stock ht.

Placing my order now! Would love to be crusing around this summer in a brand new No Limit Stock Height IFS. Seriously,, what you are discribing is what I'm looking for. The one question I have is even though it will be designed as a bolt in, I will still be able to weld it in for a cleaner look, correct?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. We are seriously considering this kit but it wont be available for atleast 6 months. We have purchased two vehicles a 53-56 ford and a 55-59 cpu. So in our FREE TIME, aka sundays, we will be research and developing these kits. We need to install and drive the vehicles before we send them to customers. So if you are interested in this kit please be patient and in about 6 months we should have some really nice stuff available soon. Thanks again for all the feedback. happy cruising.

Defnately a great idea especially with the AD. I put a camaro clip on once to keep the height, I will never do it again. My current project uses stock components because it was the only way not to lower it. Hustle up before I paint my chassis.

I guess I haven't done a lot of research on this (because its about a year away in my AD build), but with all the different types of crossmembers out there, do I understand that there isn't one that uses all S10 or G-body suspension parts? I would think that S10 or G-body brakes are enough to stop an AD truck safely, and drop spindles and springs for these vehicles are fairly common and reasonably priced. A rack location shouldn't be hard to engineer, and if not, the stock steering GM box could be moved to the outside of the frame, a la kits that are available now.

Scott Danforth has something like this. You just have to get one!

I couldn't imagine what an IFS would look like at stock height AD coming down the road. Oh wait, I think I can. Look at all those that have the 73-87 front end under them. All you see is springs and A arms. They look too jacked up. If you can do something that looks good, maybe. I'd just stick with a stock axle if I were going to stay at stock height.

I prefer 7-8" to the running board on an AD. About the same on a TF.

So there are yes answers. This isn't one.

in the past 30 years i have driven these trucks in countless forms and unless you change both front and rear setups it will ride like a old truck that they are.leaf springs are for hauling loads not people in comfort, really can't have both and expect them not to be kidney bruisers.
