Factory ? about fan shrouds

Are original fan shrouds from factory A/C optioned trucks the same as fan shrouds on trucks that did not come with A/C? I thought I saw somewhere on the board that there was a difference, but lately I have heard that there is no difference. I was hoping someone could clarify this for me so I can buy a fan shroud on the parts board. Thanks!

Re: Factory ? about fan shrouds

They mount and look exactly the same for 2wd small block but the shroud tunnel with a/c is 1 inch shorter than the non a/c shroud. Now i dont know why, maby to clear the belt and pump clutch, but you may be able to use the non a/c shroud on an a/c truck with no problems.

Doesn't the fan clutch add the extra inch?

Re: Factory ? about fan shrouds

Thanks for the information everyone. Can anyone tell me what the depth of the A/C shroud should be?

Re: Factory ? about fan shrouds

Stock AC is 5 1/8, I went out and measured the eagle truck and its original. And that is what I was thinking the non AC shrouds are atleast 3/4-1 inch deeper
