Long Horn Trucks Length

I do not currently own a truck but i find my self shopping A LOT lately and few good deals have come up.

I am hesitant because I am not sure if i ready for it yet but mostly for space reasons...

Would any one be able to take a tape measure to their truck and give me a conservative bumper to bumper measurement of there trucks? I would ask some of the sellers but after talking to couple i'm not sure if they could show me the open end of a wrench let alone use (or find) a tape measure.

I need to know if these beats will fit in my garage with out having to remove my cabinets in the front.

My 01 extended cab short box dodge would fit with some room to spare... but i have never that truck any where near a long horn let alone a long box of this generation for comparison.

If some one could do this I would be very very greatful...

Thank you,

Scott

Re: Long Horn Trucks Length

Hi Scott....

to the boards from warm and balmy NC (at least this weekend)

I don't have a longhorn but know that the wheel base is 6 inches longer than a longbed truck (127 inches)....so total wheel base for a LH truck is 133 inches....

Hopefully someone will chime in here shortly with overall dimensions for ya

Re: Long Horn Trucks Length

with the tailgate closed, a stock front bumper with no bumper guards, and NO rear bumper, the length of these trucks are;
SWB - 188 3/4 inches
LWB - 208 inches
Longhorn - 213 3/4 inches
Remember to add length for a rear bumper.

Re: Long Horn Trucks Length

These old trucks aren't as big as they seem. For example, the wheelbase for an 04 sierra ext cab 6.5 box is 143.5", a full 10" longer than a longhorn! The wheelbase for an 04 sierra reg cab 8 foot box is the same as longhorn at 133" (begs for swap). The overall length on the 04 ext cab 6.5 ft box is 230" which is longer than the 228" reported by skip greaney. Assuming 01 dodge is about the same as 04 GMC, you shouldn't have a problem.

I REALLY wish you had not mentioned this... I work at a truck lot and I can get some thing like this with a 6.0L in it for pennys...

I had planned a cummins swap but now you started some thing worse...

Regardless, thanks again for all the replies, I will be measuring tomorrow
