rearend swap..

i am swapping my rearend with a dana 60 on my69 4x4 with dana 60 from a 78 chevy... the spring seats on the rear end dont line up with the springs.. how do i get these to line up right>>. do i cut off and reweld?? or but spaces behind the spring perches on the frame??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Rear end swap

If your going to put the 78 rear under your 69 you'll have to cut the spring perches off, relocate them and reweld. You may also have to relocate the shock mounts also. Be carefull not to cut into the axle tube. Use the measurements & pinion angle from the old rear, and you should be good to go.

I did the same but with a 12 bolt rear.
