Hedman header question
Been away for quite a while! I will have to catch up with all the long timers and get to know everyone else.
I bought a set of Hedman 69090 headers yesterday. The passenger side went on without a problem, but obviously the clutch z-bar is interfering with the install on the driver side. I did some more research after the fact and the 69092 set looks like possible direct fit since the #7 pipe is bent differently. Anyone have any input on the 69092's as a direct fit? Answer: Hedman 69092 headers are a direct fit if you have a 3 speed column shift. 69090 69092

Re: Hedman header question
Yes, if your truck was originally a V8 (factory position), you will need the 69092's. If you are mounted on I 6 stands with your sb, you can use the 69090's....post back that info, & I will show you how I did it crazyL

Re: Hedman header question
I'd love to see pics of this install as I had the same question last week. I too am trying to find a set of headers for a 350 4 speed combo that require little or no modifications

I am wondering if moving mine will make the shorty headers not run into the front cross member.... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Hedman header question
If you are mounted in factory sb spot, you can run an HEI....with enough clearance to turn your fist sideways & fit it tween the dis cap & firewall. if you are in I 6 spot, that HEI will fit.....but you will play he!! slidin your fingers tween the cap & firewall(dam tight!) CrazyL

Re: Hedman header question
I got Doug Thorley Tri Y's myself.
They were the only ones I could find that would fit angled spark plug wires.

Re: Hedman header question
Just to clarify, you had an issue installing on a manual shift truck? I just ordered these for my '71 c10 350 Auto .. really hoping all fits well.

Re: Hedman header question
3 year old thread and the OP hasn't been active since 2011.
The clearance issue with headers and manual rigs is the Z bar that actuales the clutch. The auto trucks don't have a Z bar. Gary
