5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern
Ive done a little searching and havent found anything. Im converting my 70 to front disc from a mid 70s parts truck. Does anybody make a rotor with the more popular GM 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern? I found numerous adapters but am reluctant to use them.

Take a look at this thread in the Suspension Forum- "you want to change your 5X5 bolt pattern on 73-87 disc to 5X4.75"

or you could do like my PO and put disc brakes off of a mid seventies monte carlo..!!
I thought the whole time i had 5x5 bolt pattern, until I trashed a wheel bearing and spindle, then went to fix the truck. They used a monte carlo spindle, rotor, and caliper. They just reemed out the holes for the spindle. Works good, I havn't changed it YET. |

What are you trying to accomplish other than running a 4 3/4 bolt pattern?

I thought I read somewhere that POL performance online.com sell 1.25in rotors in 5.4 3/4lug pattern.

for about $40 you can have rotors redrilled...

What about the rear? It doesn't seem worth it to me. But,pretty much the wheels I like are all available for the GM truck pattern,since they are so popular.

Like I stated above, what Ive got my eye on only goes up to 4 3/4 I worked for an import garage awhile back and we sold more wheel adpators and spacers than anything else. Never had a failure and the way those kids would beat those cars I would say I should have no worries about running them. But I thought maybe there was a simple solution, i.e., buying a rotor with the bolt pattern I want. |

I jumped the gun myself. Guess Ill run adaptors
The point of the change was to get disc brakes, not wheels. But now Im on the wheel subject soooo.... The rear will be changed at some point as this was a 6cyl truck and it has some ungodly high ratio. Again, not changing for wheels. |
