Re: Do you guys think i should trade my 67 camaro for swb truck

Knowing you are in Colorado, and seeing a bit of rust peeking out and not being able to see how the subframe connectors are AND seeing your '68....I'd do some trading, too. There's no engine in it, right?

I hate to tell people what I traded my '67 Firebird Sprint HT for....so, I won't. But, let me tell you the other guy got a better deal...in the long run. Oh, I saved my kids from a life of teenage angst by denying them the opportunity for arguing over who got to drive it and I didn't have to worry about one of them "borrowing" the keys.

Life is all about the choices we make.....

I bought my 68 back in 2001. I paid 4,000 for it. When i seen it the car had been sitting since 1992. The only reason im thinking of getting rid of the 67 cause i also have a another running 67 camaro as well. I figured i dont need 3 of them anymore.

No there is no motor in the car. The car does have some rust in the back quarters and in the trunk a little. Other then that it is a pretty solid car.

Re: Do you guys think i should trade my 67 camaro for swb truck

I think it all depends on how you come out in the trade. That car looks like a roach and it also looks like a plain jane.....maybe even a 6 cyl car. It's a little different if you have a vert, RS, SS, or RS/SS, and Z/28 (although a Z would be crazy in '68....very low numbers). I had the car below at the same time I had my truck. It was a converted 396 and a 4 speed. I was going to go through it until I realized just what kind of town I moved to. If you don't have any of the above cars in my town, you don't have sheet. Bend, OR has a VERY high per capita of very spendy Camaros to population. I decided to get rid of the Camaro and build the truck. glad I did. My truck gets soooooo much attention because there is maybe one or two more cool ones in the whole town. I pulled out the M-22 and it's now in the truck. I also took out the 396 and sold just the car for 6K which was really high for a plain jane roller than needed both rear quarters replaced along with frame straightening and other things. I came out gooooood!!! The last 2 pics are what it looked like when the guy picked it up.

Trade it.
I'd trade my old '67 RS Camaro for the "right" '72 swb Big Block Cheyenne Super,... any day.
(this is turining into a Camaro thread)

Knowing you have two others you know their value, so either sell or trade and get the truck you want!!!

Re: Do you guys think i should trade my 67 camaro for swb truck

Yes get a SWB Truck. Please hold on to the car. Even if your not in love with it now. The Camaro is like gold in the bank. I have a 69 and 72 Blazer and a 69 Camaro. I paid $550 for one blazer and $2,500 for the other. I wouldn't let the camaro go for $25,000.

No, wait... I'll trade you a SWB Truck in equal shape for the Camaro. I see one for cheep on craigslist right now. With a little work I could flip the car for 4X as much.

Re: Do you guys think i should trade my 67 camaro for swb truck

Camaros vs trucks in equal shape doesn't work.
Only equal "value" works.
Seems like a beater Camaro can be a $8k-$10k car.
First generation Camaro prices are crazy.

Re: Do you guys think i should trade my 67 camaro for swb truck

OK, all this camaro talk has prompt'd me to start looking for some NOS parts for my dad's '73 Z28 LT1. It has an RS front end... and I need to get a new grill, the rubber boot for it, some emblems. Car is all original, interior is 100% like new. Low mile car. Anyway, I want to start some work on it now.

Any suggestions on a Camaro forum?

Thanks

I am part of the camaro enthusiast forum. There is a lot of info on 2nd gens, but the forum is over-run by 4th gen owners

nastyz28.com is a good camaro site....but there is also an alternate tinkerings thread here that you can post your build on and ask questions....there are a lot of camaro guys that are also truck guys. I never had a first gen...but I restored a second gen (80Z28-last yr before computers)

Boy, I really did a double take when I saw that Camaro. I also live in Colorado and here is a picture of a 67 Camaro a buddy and I used to drag race in the 80's. That brought back some memories.

Honestly the camaro will bring a lot more money in the long run but swb BB trucks will bring some money to. These camaros go up in price by the day it seems like anymore so im sure youll get a decent price for the camaro.
