My '72 Park brake cable?
I had my '72 3/4 ton in the shop getting some work done and the idiot mechanic cut the driver's side park brake cable. I'm trying to find a replacement for it but I'm not having any luck....anybody know of some place I could check with? LMC and other places don't offer one for a long bed 4x4. The passenger side cable is good as well as the cable that connects the two at the back. Any help would sure be appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: My '72 Park brake cable?
Personally, if you want new, I'd wander over to the Vendors area here on
the board and ask. Like most folks in the trade, they are your best bet since they make their living sourcing parts. And they know our trucks. If used is good, then look at the parts board for a seller parting a like truck. You can't post a want-to-buy ad, unless you are a subscriber, but you certainly can shop there. And go talk to that shop and see if they will pay for the part they broke. Good Luck! . |

Re: My '72 Park brake cable?
Thanks guys! I went to Inline Tube and am ordering one today. $59 for one seems a little high but the quality seems to be very high! Thanks for the link Fastfun!

I got mine at NAPA, $15 per side a coupla years ago. I think Inline is high on everything because they are a specialty shop. LockDoc

Re: My '72 Park brake cable?
I checked with our local Bumper to Bumper and they couldn't get a long bed one, neither could S & W, LMC, or Classic Industries. Our closest Advance is in Hays so it'd be about 1 1/2 hours away so I never bothered with them. Guess I should've checked Napa here in town but I never thought about them!

Re: My '72 Park brake cable?
I checked w/ the local NAPA last year and they couldn't get me any. I need the whole set-up though. As a side bar: How do you tell the difference between the T305 & T400?
