Yes Alan you did . Other searchs around the internet show lots of guys prefer Gold for the heavier and vertical work and extreme for the finish work and spot putty/Glaze. Summer Heat is not an issue right now , It is way below freezing here tonight . I will wait until warmer days before starting the body work.
I think I will start with the Gold since a lot will end up on the floor.

Hey guys, I had just asked the same questions about a month ago. After I went down to carquest and saw the price of the rage filler for 60 dollars, I instead bought the 3M body filler for 30 dollars. Im no body man plus im not building a show truck, only a weekend cruiser. I have used it a few times so far and seems to spread pretty good with no pinholes. If anyone has had any issues with this filler please let me know, thanks. Thats my .02

Here's a pic of the guru at work. I knew how to remove paint by sanding it, but apparently Alan prefers the "set a fire to it and remove it method".

I've been working on a '65 c10 lwb all winter, doing body work when I can get the garage warm enough..lol. It's coming along pretty well, I guess, I'm waiting for the engine to get back from the builder this week so thats more good progress. Remember ONE THING AT A TIME IS PROGRESS. That saying keeps me going...lol.

I'm glad my "One thing at a time is progress" helps. I tend to forget it sometimes.

Do you know how to create your own build? If you have questions please ask. We all like to see other trucks being worked on.

I have started reading because I have got two 64s that I need to replace floors and door sills on and got way more than I bargained for not just how to dos that will help me on my trucks but some positive life lessons as well Thank You
I will be eagerly waiting every update to see what you are up to next

Thanks taskforce, your probably more familiar with my truck than I am at the moment. I have PADD "Project attention Defeciet Disorder" I can't stay focused on any one thing. My goal in the near future is to button up the engine, get the glass in, finish the bed, hood and fenders.

I have PADD "Project attention Defeciet Disorder" I can't stay focused on any one thing.

Like I can focus on any one thing I have two 64s one GMC and one Chevy then there is two 56s one GMC and one Chevy then a 57 Chevy and a 71 Chevy. That is three two tons, one one and a half ton, and one one ton and they are all dump trucks. You see I not only have many they are big You can see the 56 here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...335636&page=17posting #412 it is a work in progress. The 64 GMC is kind of a rust bucket but has pretty much all new drive train I use it to pull a 12 ton equipment trailer and a 14,000 lbs mini excavator around, The 64 Chevy is a just started project, the 71 is the first I started but got put on the back burner in fact I think I am going to pull the dump box off and turn it in to a slammed dually pickup, I have been thinking about using step side fenders and a fleet side box to build a never offered but factory looking dually box. The 57 Chevy and the 56 GMC are pretty much parts trucks that I am ready to remove all useable parts from and scrap the rest to help fund the others.

I'd say you are ate up with PADD. I'm just trying to concentrate on one project now. There isn't enough time in the day for any others.

Slowing down at work some. Also found out they will be renovating our bodyshop in a few months. That means I need to get it done and out of there before the contractors show up. Blocked some on it today.

I'm thinking about squaring these edges off what do y'all think. The more I look at it the more I need to do it. Or am I just being anal? Most will not even notice it when looking at it. I've spent a lot of time looking at it while making it and sanding it. Getting it smooth on the lower inner corners where it is attached to the inner bedside is a PITA.

Is'nt it covered by the wood? If it is then your way to anal, but do it anyway.

Wiped the front of the fenders and ground the hood. While sanding the fender I noticed I didn't weld all the way around. You'd think as long as I have been doing this it wouldn't happen. Oh well.

It all looks great if that flang is hidden under the wood it is great like it is if it is on top of the wood make it so it is under IMO

I did, but I bought a rust free GMC hood.

I think I have mentioned this earlier. I thought about using a weatherstrip from a late model car trunk for the seal between the inner fender to the firewall. I found one today and tested to see how it looks. I haven't installed on the truck yet. Right now I'm thinking it will be better than factory. What do ya'll think? The only thing I forsee is the inner reinforcement metal will rust.

I think it looks good. Seal it with silicone or something else so the metal won't rust.
