Re: Scary engine bay pics

I don't have any pics, but after restoring a lot of classics, I fully endorse this thread.

Re: Scary engine bay pics

I'm not sure I have ever seen anything as bad as those "custom" motor mounts. Those are scary for sure.

Re: Scary engine bay pics

Whew, slipped by that one. I though you were going to dig out a photo of my engine compartment for a minute. I had a 64 a few years ago that may have been worked on by the same guy who cobbled that first one together. It looked about the same under the hood when I bought it. And it did catch fire on me one day and caused me to use up my only Halon fire extinguisher in the process.

Re: Scary engine bay pics

The pics make it look better than it was. Alot of bare wires not hooked to anything. No functioning guages, the radiator leaked and was over all a mess. Drove it three hours home though, not the smartest thing I've ever done.

Oh, and is there a scary interior thread???????

thats how they did them in my little bros 64 F100 when they put the 390 in it, it sat lower on the passanger side and had some bird dookie welds, little to say we took them out along with the motor, and will be putting the new crossmember he purchased in it when the 390 motor, frame, and suspension is clean
