I ended up going from a BBW to a SBW; I can hear the rest of you cursing already My truck actually had a big back window when I bought it. The cab was pretty rotten on the bottom, so I ended buying a better cab which happens to be a small back window. It wasn't worth changing the window IMO, and I sold the BBW panel to another board member.

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
I prefer the big window on fleetsides and a small window on stepsides. I have one of each that way now and I think they fit the bed widths well that way.

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
I'm with you. I'd like to not have the blind spot when looking over my left shoulder but I'll live with it to keep the small back window.
Are you wanting to go from a big window to a small window? I have a buddy that did the conversion he'd probably sell his small window sheet metal. |

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
I have a small back window, looking to go to a big back window. Buddy of mine runs a resto fab shop, he will prob be making this panel to convert mine unless there is still someone selling the panel that’s needed.

Yea those Big Back Windows are so ordinary, I am going to convert my BBW to A SBW and go ahead and pull the V8 and stick the 6 cylinder back in too, oh and those pesky disc brakes have to go.

On the donor panel, how did you reinstall the new panel to the existing roof skin at the rear seam?

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
Well hidden tack welds where possible. Panel bond for the rest.

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
Looks like you need to add about $2000.00 in the conversion budget for vice grip clamps...

Re: Punched my '66 Small-Window out to a Big-Window
Or look for them @ the next swap meet. There's usually a pair or 2 w/used tools being sold @ a pretty deep discount vs new.
