1967--72 Heater Question

I have a 1968 3 door suburban and i have the regular heater controls.Well the lever on the it broke and i was thinking even tho it dose not have AC.Can i use the AC control unit on my 1968 None air suburban or is the wiring different.I know there is a add on AC harness under the dash and i need the wire harness that has the relay for the speed control. It seems like all the regular heater controls seem to brake at the fan switch.Well i figured if i have the AC one the fan switch is just a up and down switch be less where and tear on the heater unit.the AC control will never be used Just the Defrost and the floor vent would be used. Its just a thought there was a sale on them for 119.00 for everything that the unit comes with and it has more lights on it so i can light up my dash a little more the the AC one looks better then the Heater core one Let me know I'm in Calif my email is Stsalvage@yahoo.com

Now I've added the heater core i want to change to the AC one in my black truck.Even added the fuse panel for my none AIR 1968 3 door suburban hope some one will tell me all i have to buy is the add on Air conditioning wire harness under the dash and buy the controller and i'm set to go and the relay

Let me know if the Idea is sound or i have to buy a full AC wire harness and fuse panel for under the dash to make this Idea work

Re: 1967--72 Heater Question

If you're not putting A/C in then there's no reason to spend on the A/C control panel. There is a kit to replace the broken lever that sells for about $20.It took me about an hour to do the rebuild.I suggest you remove the cables and soak them with a good solvent and/or oil. Then blow them dry with your air gun and lube with graphite type lube. They will work much easier and smoother and should last another 40 years.
