the movie Dazed & Confused 1971 chevy

there's a movie being shown on TV now called Dazed and Confused about high school aged kids in the 80's and the movie is filled w/ cool cars/trucks including a 1971 chevy truck. The bad guys drive around in it. Just an FYI

It takes place in 76....saw it MANY times when it was in the theater about 15 yrs ago. Great movie, and lots of nice cars!

Yeah, fantastic movie, one of my favorites! Probably the most air time one of ours has ever gotten on the big screen.

I bought about 12 of the die casts when they came out, in all 3 sizes.
Real bummer they put 90's craptastic wheels on it instead of kick ass slots.

Re: the movie Dazed & Confused 1971 chevy

That's the movie where I first learned to hate Mathew mc cognaheywhatanidiot! Any guy that wears pink pants tucked into his boots, hangs out with his former highschool pals after graduating or dropping out or whatever, whether it be in a movie or not, needs to be hated. His only redeeming quality in the movie is the Chevelle he drives. But really, I just can't stand mathew mc cognahayhayhay! I think it's cause he reminds me of one of my former classmates that wore pink pants tucked in his boots.

Re: the movie Dazed & Confused 1971 chevy

My youngest son gave me the 1/18th scale '69 Chevy pickup, in black, with the slotted wheels on it....for Christmas. Other than the grille, it's identical to the truck in the movie.

That truck is the SOLE reason I am in to 67-72's

Anyone know where it ended up? I'd be cool to track it down 20 years later.

Re: the movie Dazed & Confused 1971 chevy

I graduated High School in 1977 and "Dazed and Confused" is too accurate ! Lots of keggers (often at my house), smokin' dope and cruising around. Even saw Aerosmith ! I dig the truck, Chevelle and the GTO Judge ! And yeah, we dressed funny, but no pink ! The sound-track really brings it all back fo me.

The guy that has the truck is a member on here, but it looks nothing like that now. Pretty sure it's strictly living life in 1/4 mile time now if I remember right - Tubbed, slicks, roll bar....etc.
