Just went through all of the hassle of putting on new vent window seals and now the damn things are noisier than they were before!!

what is the deal with these repro seals anyway? I think the problem lies in the vertical bar seal. It is a double-lip type of seal but I do not think it is tight up against it. I am going to try and put a sliver of soft durometer neoprene between the lips and see what happens. Anyone else have any suggestions?

who did you get the seals from? lmc and the like are known for seals that dont fit.....

One other thing I can try is spray some silicone mold release on the edges of the vent window and then put some black RTV on the lip edges and let it cure a day that will fill any voids and the mold release will prevent the RTV from sticking to the glass and the framework. Seems like such a PITA to get these to seal. By the looks of them from the get-go they looked really good quality and fit nicely. I guess I will attack the vertical seals first. That seems like the only real place that the wind noise will generate any noise from anyway.

I had the same problem or so I thought ... Then I adjusted my toor to fit snugger. It was out just a bit caosing my air noise. just a thought

Well, what I ended up doing was cutting a piece of .070" diameter neoprene "O"-ring stock and putting it in between the lip and outer seal (the gap is in molded in there) of the vertical bar seal and gluing it in from top to bottom. You can't see it either. What this did was expand the gaps so now when the wind wing is closed it is tight up against the entire channel seal. For an extra added bonus I took the liberty of putting black RTV along the seal edges and in the corners thus filling any and all voids that the rubber had innitially. This seemed to do the trick! There is the inherent noise that is normal with these trucks but no more damn wind!!
