replacing 250ci w/305V8; clutch linkage mod?

We are running into a problem with mounting the clutch linkage pivot bracket on the small block on my 67 3/4 ton. It seems like there is enough room around the headers to do something, but how should we mount it? Any ideas would be appreciated. We are thinking about changing it to a hydraulic system.

There are two holes on the side of the block that are where you would mount the pivot ball in a car application that you mount a bridge plate to, to make the pivot directly across from the frame bracket, then you need a small block z-bar. The 6 cylinder stuff will not work with a v-8. 6, sbc, and bbc are all different.

My problem is that there is only one hole on the 85 305 block. I think the 85s had hydraulic clutches?

Are you using 6 cyl frame mounts or swap to v8 mounts?
I just started a build thread detailing my 6cyl to v8 swap as well.

It bolted right on to the 6 cyl mounts.

Which z bar bracket did you use on the block?

Re: replacing 250ci w/305V8; clutch linkage mod?

No bracket on the block, I just used the block side pivot ball for a v8 4wd straight into the block, that may be an issue for you. It threads into a boss near the dipstick tube.
The stick v8 clutch stuff will not work with the motor in the 6cyl mounts. They put the motor about 3" back farther than the stock v8 mounts.

I used the stick 6 cyl z bar
