I already have the 5.3 installed. However,..

I have a very nice 6.0 sitting in the garage. Can I use the same computer for the new 6.0? everything I have seen says yes. However, I figure I would ask.

Seems to me like a no brainer, everything should bolt up with no issues.

I think you will just have to have it reprogramed to know it is a 6.0. All the sensors should be the same.

the only thing changins is cubic inches... Same tranny, same intake and etc... only real change is a bigger cam than the 5.3.

The tune in the computer will need to be changed. What years are the motors? Only problem you may run into is the 24x and 58x reluctor rings if dealing with 07+engines.

5.3 is an 02 and the 6.0 is an 05.. Yes, will have to tune for the new setup. The cam in the 6.0 is somewhat larger than the 5.3. However, I think the current tune will let it run OK.

you mean for the cam or does the computer operate different for the 6.0? Besides the cam I figured the only real difference was the cubic inches...

Re: I already have the 5.3 installed. However,..

THere are several ways to do it. but one of the key things to do is to change the displacement in the PCM from 5.3 to 6.0, this goes into many calculations for the Air and Fuel.
if stock motors then the tuner would probably just take the VE and MAF tables from a stock file and copy over or if they have tuned them successfully they would pull from that db and put in those changes.

So if I have this cam, Custom comp Cam Hydraulic roller
Camshaft Specs: Valve Lift (1.7) Duration@.006 Duration@.050 CL 114
int: .596" 303º 250º
ex: .596" 299º 246º

am I reading that right a reverse split cam of 250/246 with .596 lift on a 114?
a cam that large really needs to be tuned in person but I will give it a shot...what trans?

Re: I already have the 5.3 installed. However,..

All this power and I still drive it like an old lady... except sometimes I get the itch to release a little aggresion. The 5.3 with the cam, headers and OK tune runs like crazy already and sounds awsome. I just figured a 6.0 would be better therapy.
