292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

292 engine brackets and frame stands. These are offset on the frame, and different than the 250/350 brackets and stands. Removed from 1979 C20. Hard to find, and what you need if you want to run the big six. $60 shipped anywhere in the continental US.

What do you want pics of, the brackets or PS setup? My camera is acting funny, but I will try to get them up if you are indeed interested.

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

Sorry about that, my camera really sucks...and I was hoping to pick up a new one this weekend...this is the best pic I could get. These were removed off a late 70's like I said, and may be different than your early 70's setup. This engine orig had a smog pump on it...and it was bolted to the setup as well from GM.

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

the pump went into the "cradle"? or outside of it as shown?
I have the very same setup. I tried to use it with the pump in the cradle it would work with modification (have to remove some of the top bracket as I have the 3/4 bypass hose and the bracket conflicts with the attachment of the hose...)
I guess i need the older style. Bummer for me.... thanks anyhow

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

In the first pic I posted, it went to the left of the PS pump. Here is a pic of the engine before I removed the components, and got rid of the engine. Hope this helps to clarify.

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

Are all the brackets (engine side) and stands (frame side) unique, or only the RH stand? I thought the LH was the same as 250 (same stand as SBC, just repositioned) and the RH bracket was same as 250 too.

C20, is the frame taller than the C10 in this area? In other workds, would the stands work on a C10? i would think the brackets would be the same.

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

I think the frame brackets are different between 250 and 292, or so I have been told...definately in a different position on the frame on the right side. I also do think the 20 series frames are slightly taller than the 10 series. I am by no means an expert, all of this was scheduled to go into my 77C10 before I sold it...I am sure I could have made it work with a little work.

Sorry to hijack but I've got the same setup for my 250. I don't have the smog pump to tension my belt so I'm going to put a plate with a self tensioner in place of the smog pump. Just a thought.

TTT for you Bigblock

Re: 292 inline 6 engine and frame brackets

Hello, thanks for you r quick reply. Do you know if those parts are the same as my 1970 c-10 292? I didn't realize yours was a later model. Did yours have the smaller bipass hose from the thermostat housing to the water pump?Hey thanks again.

Engine mounts gone, still have the stands. $35 shipped.

Complete PS setup, from same '79 292 truck. LOWER price of $70 plus shipping.

Do you still have the power steering brackets? Willing to trade a 67-72 tach dash for it? I can text pics of it to your phone.
