We went and renewed the plates on the beast in NJ ..we4 went to drive it down from Deposit but it died en route.. so we will go back one day this week and try to troubleshoot it and drive it the rest of the way back...
I also paid for a bed for it
How about you all?

That Gator chop sounds neat! Any pictures?

Keep getting stuff to look forward to like that and the time will fly by! And by then you should have everything in your exact down to the details!

Be safe, man!

I cut down a drive shaft yoke on the lathe to shorten a shaft on a '70 C10. After that I went crazy with a tape measure trying to see if some seats I found will work. Think the backs are too low.

Hoping to get my headers done tonight. I got 8 holes that need to be filled...

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

Got my '86 pulled up to my garage from the back of the property and began what I thought would be an arduous task of tracking down the wiring issue the previous owner told me was the reason it wouldn't start.

Turns out it was a dead battery.

Started trying to get the cab off my '87 to start redoing the frame and now have spinning cage nuts on both the rear mounts.

Got help from Paint & Body section and will tackle that after dinner.

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

Another week-end of rolling and mowing yard in between rains also cleaning out fence rows of some old hedges before new fence.

Sharing some pics of today's task: Departed at 8 this morning with the C-30 and trailer on a trip for firewood for next winter.

A 70 mile round trip of enjoying the ride and the scenery from here to there and back.

Plan is to sell some this winter as well so starting to bring it in early. I have this crazy idea to have close to 100 ricks by December. Money in the bank or is it speculation? After today's work-out, we will see...

At least now I can begin to put that log splitter to use.

Enjoyed the road time though. Always nice to take an old fashioned slow ride to somewhere with this truck. I figure I can legally drive slow nowadays because I almost qualify for senior citizenship.

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

Picked up another motor for my '50 project. A friend replaced a sweet running 307 in his Chevelle with a ZZ4 crate motor. The little 307 is now resting in my garage and will have a new home soon. The 305 I picked up a couple months ago was going to need some head work, the 307 needs nothing.

Saturday was the nicest weather we've seen in a while so yard and driveway time filled the day. The cruise spot was packed Saturday night, it was nice to see old friends again.

My youngest daughter (15) made Easter dinner for the wife and I. The girl is an awesome cook and loves being in the kitchen. The wife and I are going to hate to see her go off to college. LOL.

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

I got classic tags for my 86 GMC C10 excab, and my 86 Chevy C30 Extended crewcab. Removed the smog junk from the GMC, swapped the carb out for a non electroinc one, and converted the distributor to get rid of the ESC stuff. Cleaned up, and removed unnecassary vacuum lines. Runs like a completely different truck. It barely pulled itself into the shop at first.
The took the extended crew to church this morning and a lil cruise after. If amazing how well that truck drives. Smog removal is next for it. I wanna see the engine.

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

I was on call Saturday so no progress on my projects. Late that evening I did manage to get a little done on my 77. Started to detail it so I could take some before and after pics of the front end conversion.

Today I did yard/pool maintenance then finished up the detail work. I managed to get a few pics snapped before heading of to bro-in-laws house for family fun.

Spent the day at bro-in-laws house visiting and eating. Played a few rounds of darts, and redneck golf. Ate some more and headed home. I'm tired and stuffed...

I got my defroster fixed and did a write-up on it. Dash is all back together. Just need to keep my momentum up and get my baby all cleaned up and ready for cruise season!

Re: What did you get done 4/24/11 Easter edition

I haven't done anything truck wise in a long time but that's sort of a touchy subject right now so i'm not going into that otherwise i'll become more upset that i am now.On a good note ryan87 i like the new truck especially the color i'm considering painting my red truck blue so when you got some time can you possibly post a close up pic of the stepside for a better view and do you by chance have the color code.Other than that i tried to enjoy easter in spite of my stupid roomie being an obnoxious and difficult person who thinks he needs to yell about everything.Soon enough i will be out of here soon enough.
