massive problem
truck only starts if u sit there and crank and crank and crank.. then it will sputter and shoot gas outta the carb.. so i then rebuilt carb.. then it sputters more so i restabbed distributor so then now it wont even start after i shut it off.... had it running once after i restabbed distributor.... so what do i do next? plugs?

you sure the distributor was at correct tdc? And what timing are you running? Also, have you verified the plug placement is correct?

Sounds like something is seriously messed up with your timing. Any chance the timing chain skipped a tooth?
Was it running ok before/how long ago? If it is a points distributor, I lost condenser once and it caused it to backfire to the point I destroyed my exhaust system. The flashes coming out from under the hood were impressive too.

Sounds like your timing is of or your wire’s are wrong double check your firing order and reset your distributor where there is compression on the Number one cylinder…Hope this will help you..

makin sure of TDC un compression stroke s a must when installing dizzy
points gap or dwell MUST be set after cleaning checking points in dizzy
