info on anodizing trim
I would like some info if anyone can help.I have alot of original trim pieces.I stripped the paint and anodizing off 2 pieces last night and polished. They look like brand new.I would like to find out where to get a complete set reanodized after polishing and if I should paint before or after the anodizing.I live in southeastern NC but could ship the set if necessary.I also have half a dozen original gm grills that are not damaged that could bestored to new. With the price of nos now I was hoping that maybe I could find a company within a reasonable driving distance where I could drop off a large amount of trim and grills when ready and get a bulk rate.Any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Re: info on anodizing trim
If they polish nice why not just clearcoat them?

Re: info on anodizing trim
I will do that if I have to but I'm just not sure how clear coat would hold up on a freshly high polished aluminum surfaced.I just did to small fender moldings by hand with mothers and they are as smooth and shiny as my nos pieces.

Re: info on anodizing trim
I have all the equipment and chemicals to anodize but like most stuff I buy I am too busy to learn how to do it. Here is a good forum about it. I would not be surprised if you can find someone here that would help I am a member

Re: info on anodizing trim
These guys did the side trim on my 68 burb, the stuff no one was reproducing at the time.
They also hammer out all dents, repair rips, tears, and holes. http://www.kingoftrim.com/home.html
