School me on diff ram horn styles..
Was at the junkyard awhile back, saw a c 40 + with the hood raised, I poked around in in didnt see anything worth grabbing..
Anyway, it had Ram horns that pointed STRAIGHT down at the ground? The ones on my truck go back and down. Whats the diff? Is there a 'ram horn' thats better than another? Ive read somewere that the vette horns flow better than truck ram horns or something?.. I know the 73+ ? Ones are fugly, those are some ugly exhaust manifolds..

Re: School me on diff ram horn styles..
Generally the 4x4 trucks had the straight down dump and the 2wd had the angled back. The vettes were also straight dump but were 2.5" outlet and the trucks were 2".
They are actually a good flowing manifold.

Re: School me on diff ram horn styles..
Just a little clarification. The 2.5" outlet Ram Horns were last used in '64 in Corvettes. Never in the C3 (68-82 Corvettes). People do swap them in, but GM never put them there.

Re: School me on diff ram horn styles..
Here's an OEM type exhaust manifold. I also have 3 sets of rams' horn manifolds, but none of them are the 300HP/327 type that was also used on the 350HP/327 and I think on the 300HP/350's.
Truck manifold (driver's side) below:

Re: School me on diff ram horn styles..
Also to add. If you have your engine mounts on the 67-72 if not older up on the front holes towards radiator you might want to have those pictured above for clearance so it wont touch the crossmemeber? Cause Mine are mounted up front and I have the Ram horn manifolds straight down and I don't see it having eoungh room there. Maybe it don't matter but just saying..any thoughts or ideas on that?
