what a freakin day!

scored a tailgate and all the hardware for 50 bucks! SCORE!

- then -

threw a powersteering hose going down the road!

- then -

broke a shock mount.... ripped it clean off

- then -

I poured myself a couple cocktails!

sounds as if you should have stayed home, so the day was a wash as far as cost went...

ya gonna make a porch swing out of the tailgate or do you actually need it? (i.e. the cool benches and seats we saw made out of old tailgates on here a week or so ago!)

Congrats, sounds like a (relatively) good day if you're pouring cocktails by now!

i took a 4-5-6 wide tailgate to pate & sold it to a young man. i was showing him how easy the surface rust just brushed off with my bandana when he screamed out STOP! said he wanted the rust to stay, he was gonna hang it on the wall in his shop! go figure. then i came home & started to work again & let a truck get away from me that i was jacking up & it knocked my toolboxes over. crap.
