That is good to always be improving.
The new pump will be an upgrade option it will not be standard. This pump Just came to market earlier this year so it has not been available long.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Has anyone put one of these on a lwb with coil springs? Just wondering, think this is going to be my next project, and I want to make it flush with my wood bed. Can't decide on your product or cpp. Thanks.

Dave,
Do you have any pictures of the latest tank design with the angle notch in the rear? I saw one at a car show this weekend and I wondered if it one of yours. Any pictures from members that have it installed on their truck? thanks

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Does anyone with a side fill tank have to notch the frame for clearance? Here's a few pictures of what I'm referencing. I'm also considering removing the rear brace to slide the tank inside the frame rails & shim it so the fill tube is above the top of the frame. Question: Can I swap the current rollover safety valve & return line locations? Reason: The rollover is directly under a bed floor brace & looks like it will hit it if raised up.

Thanks. The tank I saw last weekend had an angle notch at the rear. It looks like your tank is square at the rear. Is this the latest model?

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

The top side of this tank DOES have an angle on it for the rear cross member. It fits in there pretty snug but does have about 1/2" clearance on all sides. I got it last year in a group buy. I'm just disappointed it can't be installed without modifying the frame now. Even if I raise the tank to clear the hose, the location of the rollover valve OR a return line elbow will come in contact with the bed cross member.

Just for the record, my truck is LWB 2WD.

I was debating whether to have someone local cut the neck off & make it taller so it stands above the frame. How much should something like that cost?

A UPS quote to send the tank back for work looks like about $70 one way. So even if you did the work & sent it back for free, it will cost that at minimum.

LMK your thoughts on this & whether this would be easy to do.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Ok you guys twisted my arm... I will get the details together on this years final group buy.

everyone chime in and let me know how many tanks to expect and what type, EFI or NON EFI so we can start preparing production and getting the supplies on their way.

i am going to go back through this forum and take a look at all of the prices we have offered. I will try to break the record lowest price.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I'm down for an EFI tank for long bed fleetside with wood bed. I read most of this thread (might have missed it), but was anything figured out with the fill location to be centered in one of the wide planks?

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

looking good. I am working with vendors to ensure that sending units, in-tank pumps are available and will be delivered on time.

BTW I have decided on the price and dates for this group buy

Date: beginning of Sept i will announce the exact date once all suppliers can commit to meet our delivery dates

Price: i'm not going to say yet but i will tell you that it is the lowest price absolutely possible considering the quality of our tanks.
