Re: patina
These trucks are the coolest things I have ever seen. I have a 1965 c20 that I got about a month ago and the guy before me spray painted it primer black. I'm gonna try and get to the original paint this weekend.

Re: patina
Mine was rattle can gray over the factory "yellow" (looks orange). I used a scotchbrite pad and a whole mess of elbow grease.
In process: Almost done:

Re: patina
I did a lot of it dry and some of it in the rain. I also used a drill mounted brillo but it kept burning through the paint to metal, so I have jest been doing it by hand. The rattle can paint was pretty thin.

Re: patina
If the paint underneath is original factory paint, I would suggest leaving the sandpaper and scotchbrite pads alone. Use of a MILD solvent and lots of rags would serve you better if you want to save what's left of the factory finish. I've seen "goof-off" work well dissolving some rattle can paints while leaving the orig untouched. There are many solvents for many purposes that may work even better. Always test in a hidden spot first. - my .02 - good luck!

Re: patina
I was wondering if somebody would notice that. The hood birthmark gave it away I'm guessing.

Hey Brandon, Do you have a good technique for that, someone primered mine too, I would love to see whats underneath! its going to take a lot of wet sanding depending on how thick the primer is. If your ready for the task find a place on the truck and do a small test patch with different grits of sand paper and see what it takes to get to the color underneath without sanding into it or burning through it. U may not like what you see underneath could be bondo or something else scary
