Vacuum Hose routing

Hello,

I just found y'all today and need some help.

I have a 1986 GMC Suburban.

I am troubleshooting difficulties starting. I had installed a new distributor cap & rotor, ignition coil, and plug wires, new plugs -- spark is good.

I can smell fuel, and once it finally does start it runs well. (fuel seems good)

But often, unless it's been started every day (and sometimes even then) it will just crank and crank and crank and never fire.

So yesterday I decided to pull everything off again, and I found a few broken vacuum lines. (aha.. now I know why my cruise control kept losing speed and failing)

There are six spots in which the lines are broken...

The line into the cruise control vacuum cylinder was cracked as it entered... I bypassed it while I look for a new funky little Tee connector that goes there (looks like it has some kind of check valve)

One goes from the solenoid in the air cleaner to ---- I don't know where it's supposed to go...

One goes from the fuel vapor canister to --- I don't know where it's supposed to go either it's the small line (there are three coming off the canister)

One goes from a tee connector with a swiveling top in a group of about four lines on the passenger side of the carb assembly.

The last one goes back into the cab and would probably really explain why my AC door wasn't working.

I am guessing that the AC goes into the swivel tee
The vapor canister goes into the air cleaner

Can anyone confirm this?

As a side note -- does anyone have a complete vacuum diagram for this?

Well it helps to follow the diagram... I found it in the engine compartment anyway, and I dug out my chilton's and sure enough it was there...

I had the vacuum hoses to the fuel canister misrouted or the previous owner did.. never really can tell...

Starts first time every time now


The only things i couldn't find on the diagram I guessed/figured out from the places i removed/replaced hoses.

The vacuum lead for the AC/Heater system is brittle and kept breaking off... I ended up with just a little stub going in to a flexible tube.
