engine casting number

hi guys looking for some help, i just bought an engine block with casting number 8994256 it says it's a 292, but they marked it 250. The side cover plate are only 4" talls and the motor mounts aren't staggered, what do you guys think i have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The site that I checked the numbers on says it is a 292, used in 64-77 vehicles.
