Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

I'm probably going to be there on Wednesday and then another day. Going to be parked close by if I get there early in my Saddle, white and gray epoxy C20. Should have a 327 and TH400 on skid in the bed too. Hope to see and meet a few members there. Jim

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

Chevloray and I were there on Friday. Cars and stuff still rolling in when I left late afternoon. Saturday should be a better turnout.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

I usually go on Friday, but yesterday seemed a bit slower than in the past. Maybe the economy is to blame. One of the Ford parts vendors who usually makes a strong showing, wasn't even there. But Chevy was represented by both Kenny's and H&H. Kenny only has truck parts, but H&H has also picked up several car lines...Nova, Camaro, and Chevelle.

From the empty spots Boog and I saw, there will be more vendors today....and more heat. Thank God for the shade and the breezes.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

Yeh, emptier than last year. I purchased some side marker lights from Kenny's, then went back Today after he packed up and bought a Dark Saddle and houndstooth bench cover. He took everything but my last dollar. Very nice white 67,68 with olds buckets and welded up 1 piece frontend there. Had Caddy taillights. Pics as soon as I get them downloaded.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

Tell me about the engine in the bed. You put an LS engine in place and pulled out a "what"? Did you sell it? I didn't see it on Friday, but I left shortly before noon.

There were several engines for sale setup on a test stands. One of em fired off close by and caught my wife off guard. Yeah she jumped.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

Nope, not me. Different shirt than what I had on....I had a white M/T shirt. But, I had to look twice......handsome devil, huh? Actually, my "twin" was a guy I met in the USAF, who was from Ohio. My mom couldn't tell him, from me, in some pix I sent home. Girls in The Dirty Dozen (Taichung, Taiwan) called us brothers, too. We said, "sure, different mom, different dad", but we're brothers.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

Don you know the wife and I went around the place a couple of times after ya'll left and I still didn't find a wheel. As common as that one is I thought there would be plenty there.
Yeah, we got a goooood workout.
I thought our other friends were going to buy that blue 55 chev with the 3 dueces. We looked and came back by again later. Seller wouldn't budge off the $27,500. We kept walking.

Thats my reflection. I'm Jim also. I'm surprised I didn't crack the glass. Almost missed that truck. It was in the outside parking area. I saw it when I was leaving. Here's some more truck pics too.

Re: Petit Jean Mountain swap meet.

ChevLoRay, yeh, that was the 327 that I had rebuilt back to stock specs and put 2000miles on it. I pulled it and put the 2005 5.3 and 4l60e in with 20,000 miles. I like it. The engine I think I have sold. I got a deposit and delivered it after the show. When I was running it in his garage shop it developed a miss we couldn't get rid of. I took it back home and am going to go over it and hope to find and fix and return to him. Jim.
