In 72 the dealer did install AC but it was never dash mounted factory AC, it would have been under dash.
That being said anything is possible, the dealer could have gone to the extent of adding factory AC in 72 to a buyer willing to "pay the price" but I would have to imagine it would have been LOADS cheaper to just order a truck that way. The labor to retrofit factory AC would have been crazy compared to simply ordering the truck with it.

His ad says stock options that are on the truck and lists items that were clearly added later. Many folks would consider stock to mean the way it came from the factory.

His explanation of SPIDS being incorrect and omitting options is also implying that the options were not added, just left off the SPID. Why is he making this argument unless he's claiming his listed options really were on the truck originally?

I find it hard to believe that:
1. tilt, sliding rear window, and A/C were all left off the SPID
2. that the factory installed an am/fm and listed it as an AM on SPID
3. That the factory installed a tilt column and wheel in body color instead of black
4. That an expert doesn't know that discs were standard on 72's
5. That an expert doesn't know the disc sticker was 71 only

He knows enough to be misleading.

I could, if I wanted to hook up and take it out of the trailer and putts around with the camera and computer and put it all away. Considering the bids are a long way from what it takes to buy it, so whats the point? I already waisted enough time with petty questioning and verifications to those who aren`t serious enough to come see and test drive it when it isn`t going to sell here. When I take it to live auction, everyone can see for themselves what they want in person. I had a standing offer much higher than it is here, before I entered it on ebay, from someone who has known the truck for 3 years, so why should I bother with efforts in futility? Have you even bid on it yet?

As I already stated, the truck looks great and I'd like to own it, I believe the truck is nice enough to sell on its own merits without trying to make people believe something that isn't so.

I also find it hard to believe that these options weren't listed on the SPID. Esp the AC. Like others I would love to have this truck but if I'm shelling out nearly a years wages for a truck that he is massaging as having rolled this way off the factory floor, I'm gonna want the straight scoop. Why doesn't he just say for example that " I added some factory correct options that didn't come orginally with the truck" ie AC, rear slider, AM/FM radio, etc etc. He owes a potental buyer the facts. And also I don't like the attitude he displayed in his various rants.
In sum I'm getting an education here, because as a potental truck buyer and enthusiast I should do my homework too.

The more a person is asking for an item, the more willing a person should be to document his claim - not less.

Of all the options missing from the SPID, A/C is pretty major because the cab requires a different firewall. It was also a pretty pricey item for the time, so it's very unlikely it would have been left off an invoice, SPID, or build sheet. GM used computers to build all the documentation, and the basic data to drive the programs used to generate these items would have been derived from the same records. Are we really expected to believe that GM and the dealer gave away A/C?

The burden of proof is on the one making the claim. His response about placing a bid in order to get information, invitation to make a physical inspection, saying it's too hard to take a picture and claims of receiving higher offers are red flags. He is selling to an international set of buyers, and they are supposed to fly in to verify what he could easily do? Merely inspecting the truck, especially one that is restored may not always be enough to tell the story.
