70 Chevy....Project rebuild
This is my 70 chevy. I got this truck when I was 16 for $250 from a friend of mine. It was a 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the tree. My father and I took a summer off from drag racing to build this truck. We put a small block in it, changed it to disc breaks all the way around, put air ride on it, and many other body mods. He done all the paint work on it. It has been almost 11 years since it was built so its time for a face lift. I always wanted it to be a short bed, so I found a good 67 short box for it. Now the project rebuild will start.

Re: 70 Chevy....Project rebuild
Cool ! I have a 1970 C-10 with a 350 and a 3 speed automatic. I want to eventually have a newer transmission put in that will allow for good highway speed , etc.
Being that I am NOT a mechanic, can I use a transmission from an '80's Camaro or something like that ? What is a good suggestion for a good, solid, used, inexpensive 4 or 5 speed auto transmission for a 1970 C-10 ? Thanks, Mike PS- I'm new here as of June 2011. |

Looks like a great start to a sweet shortbed truck.

Re: 70 Chevy....Project rebuild
I found this picture on my truck last night and thought I would share it. This is a picture of what I started with. If I can find the rest of the pistures I will post them too.
