73 front end conversion
Here is what I know I need to convert my 85 to a 73 front end:
73-79 Core Support 73-74 outer and center grill supports lower grill valance(metal filler piece) headlight trim Headlights & buckets Parking lights fenders hood 73-79 f/r bumpers What exactly do I need to do to the windshield wipers? I don't need to worry about the hood hinges/latch bc I will have a fiberglass lift-off hood. I have read and researched it but can't seem to find the info for the wipers.

Re: 73 front end conversion
You will need the wiper arms/linkage and nubs where the actual wiper attaches just above the cowl. The 81-87's are to tall and will hit the hood. When I did mine the guys at the salvage yard called it the wiper transmission. Hope that helps!

Re: 73 front end conversion
Do I need to get a 73-79 wiper motor as well or will the one from the 85 work?

Re: 73 front end conversion
I think the one you have will work. You may want to keep it to make sure it plugs in correctly.

Re: 73 front end conversion
If you have the internal release, your going to need a few more pieces. You will need the core support filler panel, external release hood latch, and external release strike pin.Take a look in my sig for the details.

Re: 73 front end conversion
I will have a lift off fiberglass hood.
I read that post just about everday, well not so much as read as drool over your truck. Your truck is the reason for converting to the older style front end. This is how I want to paint mine though:

Re: 73 front end conversion
im also swapping from an 86 to a 73-74 the frame horns are different for front bumber mounting, the inner fenders are different, i believe to be detail correct the the headlight bezels have a black trim paint in some spots and know that the turn signal lenses are actually amber colored and ive been told the body mounts need to be relocated? the very front ones that the core support bolts to can anyone confirm or deny that? and if so how far and in what direction? (sorry to hijack the thread)
