Problem...rear gas tank
Anyone had any problems with the blazer style tanks on pickups in the rear? Mine seems to have started a pretty damn good leak at the front pass corner when filled beyond where the two halves meet. It maybe dumped a cup or so of gas. After that no smell or leak even after hot laps around the block. I know I need a new tank. Problem is that I didn't install this tank and I don't know what brand the one I have is or what po did or didn't do. I've seen previous threads about tanks but never a leak at the split like I have. I was looking at LMC and the Brother tanks because they are exactly what I have now. Any thoughts???

Re: Problem...rear gas tank
I think blazer tanks were infamouse for leaking at the seam. I had one do that on my blazer years ago. All I can tell you is you are going the right direction, just replace it because there are no quick fixes, that remedy this problem for good. There may be cheaper tanks, best bet is to shop around. If it was taken out of a blazer look for a part number or any number on the tank and try to get info that way. They might even make a non-metal replacement for it.

I agree 100% with the "no quick fixes". When it comes to this **** I don't even piss around with trying to make it work. Just ain't worth it. This tank seems to have either been here a long time or outta something else. As usual though I'm probably wrong about both of those.
