72 air cleaner vacuum line??
so I switched to a chrome air cleaner from the factory cleaner week or two ago. I am not running a/c anytime soon, and may never install. I do have a question on what should I do with the vacuum line from the carb that went to the below part on the bottom of the original air cleaner.... and do i need it or can i plug it?

Re: 72 air cleaner vacuum line??
That's a real nice looking air cleaner you've got there. If you no longer have a want for it and wish to throw it away, shoot me a PM and I'll take it off your hands! Same for the choke thermostat. That being said...
You can plug the now unused port. However, with that carb you may experience some performance problems in colder weather during warmup due to the lack of warm intake air. This isn't as much of a problem with performance carbs that typically run rich. Of course, after looking over your pics again, I see you're got headers which have no provision for preheating the intake air or the intake manifold. Last edited by MagmaJct; 08-02-2011 at 07:26 AM. Re: 72 air cleaner vacuum line??
I plugged that port on my Q-jet many years ago when I replaced my OEM air cleaner with an aftermarket chrome one. No problems at all.
