thinking 5.3 swap....need advice

Ok, so I just put a new 700R4 transmission into my '85 Suburban recently and it's doing great. It's a level 2 unit from bowtieoverdrives. I am thinking of getting a 5.3 out of lets say an '04 Suburban, but I want to know how and what's involved in getting that to work with my old TV cable operated 700R4. I am sure people have done this but when I try to find info now, I cannot. Any help is appricated.

Re: thinking 5.3 swap....need advice

Are you wanting to use drive by cable (DBC) or drive by wire (DBW). With the cable throttle body Bowtie overdrives has a kit for around $100 that allows you to hook up the TV cable to the bottom of the Cable throttle body. I have also seen people make a bracket and hook the TV cable to the throttle pedal inside the cab. The easiest would be the cable throttle body and adapter kit.
