Ram horns I.D.

Can anyone identify wether or not I have a pair of matching ram horns? Part numbers are GM 3846559 LH22 and GM 3747038 RH21. I enter these numbers in google and it sends me to corvette sites. Also, why is one tapered where the donut gasket goes and the other is not? Thanks!

The passenger side is flush, because there is a thermostatic flapper valve that goes on first then the doughnut gasket to pipe.

This just dawned on me: if you remove that flapper valve, and just use a donut gasket, will you have a horrible exhaust leak. I removed the flapper valve when I put my new exhaust on, and its pretty loud.

I suppose one could remove the valve, but then have to chamfer the the inside so that the doughnut gasket could get a proper seal.

In the past, I would just take an old valve and knock out the butterfly. Since a lot of the times the valve gets frozen into position anyways.

Those valves cost about 65 bones too...

Ok. tried to install these manifolds and the drivers side has a threaded bracket that hits my alternator bracket? Should I switch sides?

The earlier style had the alternator mounted to the exhaust manifold on the driver side.

Wow, does anyone know if I can buy just a chamfered spacer to take the place of this valve? I hate to try and modify this manifold.

I'v seen that Bracket on the 1967--70 trucks But on my 1964--72 We have a Bracket that are plentiful on Ebay and most all parts catalogs that where really simple to use But the 1968--72 trucks went away from the exhaust mounted alternator
