As of now I'm keeping it. I'm going to try to work on it over the holidays. I'm off the week of Thanksgiving and two weeks around Christmas.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks Guys! I got a little done today. Very little. I cut the firewall for the vintage air lines to go through. Drilled the hole for the drain. Put the cover on but haven' sealed it yet though. I am thinking about painting the firewall satin black like I have done in the past with other trucks. I also test fit the headlights. The grill I have for mocking up needs to come up on the pass. side. The holes will need a little wollering to make that happen. I think it all is going to fit.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

When using the firewall cover that they send with the kit you have to trim a little of the metal so the hoses will clear. (see the square corners) I don't ever see my trucks being show pieces or all that so I don't mind the plastic cover on there. I also had to drill the drain hole. Thats the larger hole at the bottom.

Nice work on the firewall Chuck. How do you plan to mount the V/A unit? I saw in one of Rocrawlin's threads where he welded some studs to the inside and then just bolted it in from the inside. HERE
I am going to try this method on mine too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I mounted the last one in the stock hole in the middle of the firewall with the little bracket that came with it. And the other mounts were just the same. I'm not sure about this one. I like what he did. I could pull it off. It looks simple enough for me lol.
He does great work and his builds are a lot higher caliber than I could ever do. He's got skills!!!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I was going to clean up my exhaust manifolds and paint them but I didn't have any of those grinding things for the dremel. I wound up sanding and painting my breather, spacer, and cleaning and painting my ps lines.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I ordered a plug off of ebay to fill the original fuel filler. I also bought some polished stainless wipers. I'll post a pic of them when I get them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got a little done today. I got the exhaust manifolds painted. I also got the heat heat riser stuff on. The pass side isn't tightened up yet.I have to get the Vintage Air bracket out and get it painted. When I get the compressor on I'll be able to tighten everything.

I did get the spark plug heat shields cleaned and painted but I can't seem to find my small bolts for these. I'll have to keep snooping around till I come across them.
