DONE...almost

Well after some 300 hundred man hours, I can say; I am almost done.

All I have to do is:
  • wet sand everything
  • get parts from chrome shop
  • install chrome parts
  • pick-up tailgate from pinstripper
  • install tailgate
  • have pinstripper strip cab and fenders
  • do something else that I can't remember right now
  • etc
  • etc
  • etc
When you are really into it....are you ever really done?

i was looking into those but their website didn't list bigger sizes like 20"s.
I painted my Harley (a page back) in my shop in a "booth" like yours, 'cept smaller. I paint cause i still enjoy it, its the body work i hate. I'm gonna do my 70 with semi-gloss black with some metalflake candy flames. It may not be for everyone, but its gonna be unique and stand out like a sore thumb. Bonus is i may sell a few more flame jobs....

Nice work!!!

What type of gun and compressor are you using in the pic? I want to paint my truck with a hot rod flatz blue steel and I am wondering what would be a good, affordable, combo of spray gun and the what type of compressor(how many gallons etc) do I need to do it myself?

Any info would be greatly appreciated..

Did this paint and flame job back in 1990 or so (one of my first flame jobs. I've done about 1900 flame jobs since then)

Can you tell me what the light green color is on that pickup?

Re: Let's see pics of paintjobs done yourself...

I did this in my garage with 2 HF guns, 1 for primer/color, the other for clear. I used a high build primer under cheap PPG Omni. Total cost was under $500. I bought pro-grade sandpaper that out performs any thing at HD. I've still got to get the trim installed.

Wow! I would not have thought a garage paint job could be done an turn out so nicely. Very talented painters -- or perhaps very talented sanders/buffers. I am encouraged to give this a try myself when I get to that point.
