Hood hinges

The driver side rear of hood near glass sticks up when i close hood,what causes this if i push lightly it goes down.

Make sure you hinges are lubed at the pivot points then----then with the hood open----push the hood up while you loosen the hinge bolts that mount them to the fenders.
What you want to do is to actually force the hood open a little more then the hinge lets you! When you do that, you are putting some pressure on the hinge springs. Now tighten the hinge to fender bolts. Now CAREFULLY bring the hood down making sure that the rear of the hood doesn't bind up against the cowling. This may take a couple of tries to get it just right but once done, the rear of the hood will site down in the back like it should. You can adjust the front to rear adjustment of the hood on the upper hinge bolts that go into the hood. This adjustment works best with two people doing the adjustments. Even worn hinges will work with this procedure. Good luck and let us know how it works out-----Huck

I don't want to knock this procedure, but I have to say it doesn't work for ALL hood hinges. I tried it on mine and it just wouldn't do. I had to get new hinges. Then it fit like a charm!

yup, gotta agree......mine were pretty wore out at the rivets,no amt of adj.'g would make it sit level at the cowl.my new n.o.s. hinges made all the world of a difference and brought the level even and it stayed there!!
