65 LWB on OKC craigslist $250.00
THIS IS NOT MINE, but someone needs to buy this before he takes it to the crusher. It looks like a 1965 LWB small window, custom cab with lots of good parts. If it wasn't 3 or 4 hours from me I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.
http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2623619790.html Moderators please dont delete this is not mine, I just want to save it from the crusher... one of our members is looking for these parts. |

That's awesome!
Sigshooter: You are a good man to bring that truck to our attention. Kieth: That was one heck of a deal! Post up more about it when you can. I thought I got a good deal at $200 for my '64, but your '65 appears to be in even better shape than mine was.

Re: 65 LWB on OKC craigslist $250.00
Finally got back from the 65 truck purchase, was going to ride my motorcyle to look at the old girl and purchase her since it was about 160 miles away, went to get on the bike and the rear tire was flat....so I jumped into my green 66 gmc and headed on over to Pauls Valley, nice day, nice drive, no traffic (OU played at night) pushed the old girl pretty hard and she handled it very well, being a typical type A I wanted to get there quickly and my fuel gauge does not work yet, ran out of gas 9 miles from Pauls Valley.
1. Flat tire on Bike 2. Run out of gas 3. Burned up the electric fuel pump 4. called guys from my shop forgot I had loaned out the trailer..... 5. Owner of truck came and gave me a hand (really nice guy Payton) 5a. Looked at the truck and bought it----it has some rust but good custom chrome trim, good cab sails, good front bumper, good tailgate, cab can be repaired but front fenders and doors are pretty rusty, good dash, good rear inner tubs, not a bad buy for $250.00--no engine no transmission, 6. pulled the fuel pump, went to get another no one had one in OKC or Pauls Valley. 7. Could not get a trailer rounded up 8. Finally found a fuel pump in Tulsa, 9. Checked into a motel it is now 10pm 10 Got up hitched a ride back to the truck----- 11. My mechanic showed up at 10:30am Sunday Morning---popped in the fuel pump, 12. Went back to Paytons , dropped off some tools and chains 13. Took a leisurely trip back to Tulsa, on Rt 66 enjoyed the day 14. I think this truck cost me 650.00 but it was an ADVENTURE......... 15. Moral to this story Old trucks are a ball, I met a lot of nice people, could not keep them away from my 66, 16. OLD TRUCKS MAY BE CHEAP WHEN YOU BUY THEM------THEY GET MORE EXPENSIVE WHEN YOU OWN THEM.................HA HA Kieth PS I still have to go back and pick the truck up !!!!!!!!!! |
