Cool Nobody seems to be able to answer this???

okay ive got a LCA issue. will a 3/4 ton arm fit on a 1/2 ton k frame?

my original thread in the 73-87 board shows pictures.

Are you buildin 1/2, or 3/4 suspension? 2wd or 4wd? I have to ask this, cause most guys see K, and assume 4wd The C is 2wd. A little more info would help....crazyl

the truck is a 2wd C-10


okay heres the deal im using lift spindles form a newer body style truck which fit 3/4 ton ball joint, so i just ordered 3/4 lower control arms so they would be new and look fresh under the truck but the LCA shaft will not center up on the k frame because of the tabs that go into the two holes on the LCA shaft...

Someone help me here but isn't the 3/4t LCA used to attach the 88-98 spindles/brakes to the earlier trucks because of the ball joint size? I remember reading that on another thread...possibly the FAQ Brake sticky

Correct. 3/4 ton & larger lower arms have a larger OD ball-joint body which coincidently matches the 88-98 1/2 ton size.

To your original question, the arms will interchange. I have had lower a-arms from a 68 as well as lower a-arms for an 89 C30 bolted up to the same x-member (same 73-87 x-member in 2 different trucks).

THANK YOU, i know know that Rock Auto did not properly drill the holes in the control arm shafts.

so looks like ill be getting some local parts store LCA shafts

okay now after looking at the Autozone website i see that the stock photo displays the 3/4 ton LCA shaft with only one hole

WTF???

From what I remember, there's only one locating hole drilled in the shaft & only one dowel that extends far enough from the x-member to make contact.

Call Rock auto, In my experience they have made everything right very fast.

so the rear pin is where it lines up and the front dosent make contact?

Only one pin should be long enough to make contact. That is what positions the shaft/arm.
