Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Nice score on the steering column....I can never get that lucky. I know exactly what you mean about waiting on the motor build. I was told my was going to take a month and turned out to be 3 months. But hey, you are ready to move on to the next step now. keep us posted. Meaning more pics please.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
I've Decided to step up and install Vintage Air on the truck but am a little confused on how to install the Alternator on the Drivers side of the truck because the Gen 2 heads don't have any holes in them to mount the aftermarket brakets to. Im guessing I am going to have to mount them to the Water pump somehow but not sure. Hope someone has some words of wisdom for me.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Well it was Christmas come early around here this past week. I went and purchased all the goodies to put the Engine Compartment together. I bought an MSD Distributor with a 6AL Ignition Module, 600CFM Edlebrock Carb, MSD wires, Shorty Plugs, Headman Shortie Headers and a partrige in a pear tree!!!! Now all I have to do is get the Engine hooked to the tranny and drop it into the Frame. Pictures Coming Soon.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Put the Intake, Valve covers and Carb on today. I am ordering my Vintage air on Monday and I think my Wife and I are going to drop the cab on the frame this weekend. Not sure about the cab yet because I have a little alignment issued with the exhaust and the Hedders. Thinkin Im going to have to tweek the Exhaust a little. I also hooked up the 700R4 Torque Converter to the flywheel. That was a bit of a task by myself. I had to loosen up all the bolts holding the Tranny on and slide the Tranny out a bit so I could Rotate the Torque Converter to line up the screw holes. I dont know if its just me but this is the 2nd 700R4 I have installed and it seems like I have had issues with the Torque Converter both times not wanting to seat all the way into the tranny causing it to bind on the Flexplate. Anyway here are a couple of pics of the Engine with some of the Bright Work on it.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
VA72C10 and 67Cheby,
Thanks for the Compliments. I orderd the Vintage Air this morning along with a Northern Aluminum Radiator and the B-Quiet sound deadening material for the inside of the cab. I need to order my wiring harness for the truck so I can get to work on that. Its like a neverending List of things to do!!! JRBECK64 |

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
I've been dealing with a really sick Dog, and if I dont post for a while that is because My Dog Judge is the priority right now. Im afraid its just a matter of time for the old guy. He's almost 15 years old and his Splien is leaking Red Blood Cells so he get tuckered out really easy. Any Prayers would be greatly appreciated for his return to health. Were hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Been Working on the truck and got the cab installed along with most of the vintage air and all the accessories on the front of the engine. I am going to clean and undercoat the bottom of the bed and also install the new gas tank between the frame rails this week. I hope to have the bed on by this weekend. Here are a few pictures of the progress made so far. I forgot to mention that my Wife Soundproofed the inside of the cab also.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Well I have run into another road block on the Build. My Mom is in really bad shape so I went to Michigan to help as much as I can. She had 6 of her lower disc in her back fused and the surgery went without a problem. She stayed in the hospital for 7 days then my Dad put her in a rehabilitation center for 3 weeks of Physical Therapy. While in the Facility They Dropped her and broke her Tailbone into 6 peices, and also introduced an infection into the area the Hospital did the Surgery. My Sister caught them replacing her surgical bandage on the toilet (not the most sanatery places to be changing a Surgical Bandage). She is now in extreme pain from the tailbone being broke which has compounded the recovery time involved in healing from the surgery and the injuries she got from being dropped. What a huge mess. Any Prayers would be greatly appreciated for a speedy recovery.
