Been working on my Cummins swap, finally! :D

Two weekends ago, my dad dropped a buddy and I off in Temecula Ca, we bought the truck and drove it home.

This weekend, grandpa came over, a friend of mine and we got to yankin the 12v P-pumped Cummins and 47RH.

NOW!

I'm busy cuttin the main cross member to lower it's overall height so I can get the crank centerline lower in the truck.

I'll post some pictures tonight, most likely around midnight. Should have my crossmember all plated and hopefully atleast tacked up by then!

Thanks buddy, gonna do a 2-1 intake horn since the stock won't fit, also have another turbo and injectors, now I need to build the PoS Moparts trans to handle it.

I'm using two of these on each side, these things are stocky lil bastards. They have the 5/8 bore, the mounts on the chassis will be similar to the 2nd Gen Dodge pickup. I haven't finished building those and all yet so no pics.

Re: Been working on my Cummins swap, finally! :D

Can you post a couple pics of how you modified the 2wd crossmember to lower the engine, and the frame area where it interferes with the AC compressor - or does it clear the frame now that the engine is lower ?
Are you using stock 1/2 ton A-arms and ball joints or something beefier ?
Rearend = D60, D70 ? Any plans to box or reinforce the frame ?

Yeah I should be able to snap a few pictures, the truck's a 3/4 ton, just using all the stock replacement ball joints and such.

I plan on cuttin a piece of 3/16 plate to put on the inside of each frame rail from right in front of the crossmember to probably the middle of the cab, not sure how far back yet.

What are your plans for the steering? You planning to use a power rack?

Here's a few more.

Steering will be all the stock Chevy stuff with the stock Saginaw looking PS pump on the Cummins hooked up to the Chevy box.

I worked realllll hard on them motor mounts! Happy those are done...
