If you like stocked stuff stovebolt.com is a good source. You can also try chevytalk.com it use to be very active but it seems it slowed down quite a bit.

You'll find the AD forum on the HAMB is not like the main board A-holes that seem to wait to jump you then the rest pile on! It's also the single largest group on that site!

We, I'm on that forum, usually try to politely curb any jerks that talk down to the newbies or people with insane questions.
There is a bit of Splitter (47-53) vs Cyclops (54 & 55) jabbing but it's all in fun and you can get alot of help there. Some of them also don't like Poodles as they prefer sheep and goats.

It's quite a diverse group in the fact that there are so many different builds, from stock to tubbed pro-street to resto-mod to those flat black and rusty ones.

It's forum group #132 called "A-D Truckers"
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/g...hp?groupid=132

Good Luck and I hope to see you there!

Inliners.org is a good one for 6 cylinder engine modification info.

If so, Webrodder has the best/most tech articles on almost any subject I've ever seen.
The above link is the forum

Re: Any other 47-55 AD forums out there?

The HAMB is a great place for info if your truck and and ideas fit in with the concept that Ryan originated the HAMB with and that is traditional hot rods and customs. That means white walls and hub caps rather than 22 inch silly wheels and rubber band tires and older carburetored engines rather than the new fi engines. If you don't like the rules they set then it's the wrong house to be in.

Another good one for any model of GM truck is the bulletin board on www.classicheartbeat.com Things are often a bit slow paced there and if you are expecting a quick answer to a question it may be slow in coming but you will get good answers. Several members there are also on here including Wes who owns Classic Heartbeat and is great at digging out hard to find pieces for early GM trucks. He is also a good one for the off shore guys to deal with as he is willing to go that extra mile to get things shipped to the British Isles or Europe.

Every board has it's pluses and minuses and a guy has to figure out where his the most comfortable.

Good luck.

That's a no !@#$ there, great place for info as long as you don't ask any questions. The only reply you'll ever get is "hasn't this been discussed before" or "do a search on... I'm sure this has been discussed". Personally I think this is the best site for information. Even if its been discussed before people here seem to answer the question anyway and then reference to places of discussion for further info. I personally will never visit The Hamb aka jalopy journal again.
