Reality Check needed !!

Found this on eBay. Guess this guy watches too many auctions and sees gold in the driveway. Partial color change no less!

Re: Reality Check needed !!

Each man has his own idea of what his truck is worth. However, if nobody buys it then it is a safe bet that you are asking too much.

Re: Reality Check needed !!

It's a "Deluxe Edition" with a 4/800 3/4 V8! AND,"She has 76,000 miles,but when I bought it I changed that to 176,000 as that's what I think that was the actual mileage" Oh---kay? So,she doesn't have 76,000,right?

Not knocking the truck, just the seller. Sellers...can't buy with'em,can't buy without'em

How would one ever figure that truck's worth $16k? Or even $6k? It's nice... but, dude!

Re: Reality Check needed !!

Does this mean anything to anybody: "The engine itself estimates at $10,000 because its the rare 3/4"? Unless it's a new 502 crate engine with lots of goodies, I don't see rare or $10K.

haha I comment on an add and it gets locked , should have worded it different Unfortunately some peoples possesions are always gold in their eyes. It's a very nice truck, just not a 15k truck.

I found this one on ksl, it's a diamond in the rough, but not worth close to 22 if put back together like stated.

Re: Reality Check needed !!

It's not NEARLY as original as he claims either. He says it is all original, but has been repainted? Also those rims are no way original. Plus could these trucks come with the woodgrain in the interior? Or the plush seat?

X2 all of the above definately would take it out of the "All original" bracket

I realized as I submitted the thread that the title probably would have flagged it immediately but I couldn't stop once the "click" happened, no turning back lol .

Re: Reality Check needed !!

The fact that he referred to the truck (a bunch of steel, plastic, glass & rubber bolted together) as "she" and "her" at least seventeen times in the description of the truck scares me away.

Re: Reality Check needed !!

I'm supposed to be seeing this '70 at noon today. Seller seems kinda flaky, but that just goes right along with the territory on craigslist. He says it runs good, and only wants $850 - and he never called it "she" or "her" even once. I'll let you know how it goes - or how it doesn't go.

Re: Reality Check needed !!

The funny thing is,the seller (he...she?) doesn't even realize the truck (she?) is a Cheyenne Super. I think it would be worth that much with a grille surround that wasn't bent. I just happen to have a nice used one I'd sell for $1,300 . Naw,seriously,it's a nice C/20. I'm diggin' the Western Bullets.

That one has the rare "Camaro" option with that bumble bee stripe on there! I wonder if it's a RS/SS?

I like the truck just think the seller needs some help in the description and typing department.

Re: Reality Check needed !!

Decent truck but if its worth over 15K then I must be flushing a couple hundred dollars down the toilet every morning after my morning caffeine fix. And can anyone enlighten me to the 3/4 engine designation, I understand that the 4/800 must be the sellers dyslexia flaring up.
