Brakes feel like I have no brake booster

I have a 1979 C10 Cheyenne. It has disc brakes in the front and drums out back. When I bought I did not brake with confidence. I have since replaced the calipers, front brake hoses, resurfaced the rotors and new pads. The drums were turned and new shoes and hardware. The system was bled on all four corners...starting with the farthest. The truck brakes better, but I still don't brake with confidence. I have to press the pedal with a lot of pressure. Thanks for the help in advance. Oh I forgot to mention that I broke in the brakes already.

I'll have to check that. The truck is stock and it idles fine. How much vacuum should I have at idle?

Re: Brakes feel like I have no brake booster

I've had the booster go out twice on my Sub, I had to push as hard as I could with both feet to get it to stop...

Turned out that the master cylinder was leaking into the booster and ruined it. Maybe separate your master from the booster and check for leaks?

The old redneck test is pull the air hose off the booster it should have a big release of air from it if nothing comes out the booster is shot.It could be a bad master cylinder if you replace one i always do both because your already there.
